31 Mamaroneck Avenue, White Plains, NY

ArtsWestchester has announced a special event to celebrate 20 years in its historic building in downtown White Plains. The county’s leading arts advocacy nonprofit organization has put a new spin on its annual ArtsBash spring fundraiser this year by calling it Arts Birthday Bash. The event, which will feature food, fun and contemporary art, is scheduled for Thursday, May 17 from 6:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m., followed by a Family ArtsBash celebration on Saturday, May 19.
At this year’s party, ArtsWestchester will be celebrating the transformation of the former People’s National Bank & Trust Building into a cultural hub of activity for artists and creative businesses. Since the organization acquired 31 Mamaroneck Avenue in 1998, it has been hard at work restoring and creatively adapting the use of the nine-story cultural treasure into an arts incubator and multi-use arts center, while preserving the landmark building. For 20 years, ArtsWestchester has transformed one of the county’s first skyscrapers into a cultural destination filled with creative energy and arts programs serving the greater Westchester market area.
In addition, ArtsWestchester’s newest gallery exhibit, the “ArtsWestchester Triennial,” will provide the backdrop of the event, featuring artwork by contemporary artists of the Hudson Valley nominated by top museum directors and gallerists.
