Support Local Businesses Affected by the Tappan Zee Bridge Demolition Postponement

Restaurants with riverviews—Pier 701 Restaurant & Bar, Rivertown Taphouse, The View on the Hudson, Sambal Thai & Malay, Half Moon, and Hudson Farmer & the Fish—worked very hard this week to create community events commemorating the history—the Tappan Zee Bridge demolition. With many locations quickly filling up with reservations, ingredients were ordered and food was prepped. This afternoon, the construction company behind the demolition of the bridge made an announcement they were postponing demolition due to 'high winds' Saturday morning. Bartender Shake-Off At the Taste & Style Event

This past Wednesday, SAVOR—The Westchester's gourmet dining experience—hosted Westchester Magazine's Taste & Style event, part of this year's Wine & Food Festival. The evening was dedicated to food and fashion, but the main event featured a Bartender Shake-Off with the county's top mixologists. The Rye House's Sarah Pyles, Rivermarket Bar + Kitchen's Emilio Ugarte, Daniel Chang from the Birch Collective, NoMa Socia's Serena Costello, and Keven Ordonez of Mima Restaurant all competed to create the best cocktail using a Peruvian brandy called Pisco 1615.
