Westchester Magazine Highlights IntoxiKate’s Eating for Orange

Big thank you to Gina Valentino, of Westchester Magazine, for coming to the Eating for Orange Kick-Off Party and writing an amazingly supportive article about this collaborative marketing effort supporting Feeding Westchester. "In a county as affluent as Westchester, it’s hard to believe that anyone could be hungry. But according to Feeding Westchester, formerly Food Bank for Westchester, one in five county residents (which accounts to some 200,000) is food insecure. To raise awareness during Hunger Action Month each September, local food blogger Kate Schlientz (founder of IntoxiKate) kicks off the Eating for Orange campaign, now in its third year, in collaboration with Feeding [...]

IntoxiKate Mentioned in Westchester Magazine’s 914 Inc.

I was recently contacted by a writer from Westchester Magazine's 914 Inc. and ask about blogging as a business. The article—written by Liz Colombini—recently published online and I found myself in good company, with SimplybySimone, Jennaafromtheblog, Babygotchat, and EmmaWestchester also highlighted.   Click here to read the article, "Can Blogging Really Be a Legitimate Business?" online. (Thanks, Liz!)   IntoxiKate: Girl of My Dreams When I started IntoxiKate over five years ago, it was to help cover some of the news, events, and chefs that may be missed with looming print deadlines. I wanted to create something that would showcase all the things I loved [...]

Sip Like a Queen: Lyndhurst High Tea

**everything's coming up roses** Is it too early to be thinking about next weekend? I've got a confession—I've been thinking about April 6-7th since I visited the Guest Cottage at Lyndhurst for a sneak peek at the Flower Show's High Tea. In between interview takes with News 12's Lisa LaRocca (love her!), I was able to snap a few photos and chat with Saint George Bistro's Chef Chris Vergara and Michelle Adams (Hastings-on-Hudson) about their contribution to the Show. While you can get a glimpse of the design arrangements created by over a dozen of Westchester’s finest florists within the rooms [...]

This afternoon, the construction company behind the demolition of the bridge made an announcement they were postponing demolition due to 'high winds' Saturday morning. A new announcement is scheduled for tomorrow, announcing the new date. The postponed destruction of the bridge affects our small [...]
