{Press Release}

Local authors and delicious food are the main ingredients behind this year’s Books & Cooks event, a literary “feast” hosted at the Greenburgh Public Library. The annual fundraiser, celebrating its fifth year, starts Monday, May 19, 2014, at 6 p.m.

This year, the Library Foundation partnered with local food blog, IntoxiKate.com, as the media sponsor. IntoxiKate creator Kate Schlientz brings her culinary expertise and the Westchester #FoodieNation to help promote the event, as well as its partners. The culinary contributors and local authors will be featured in videos and an online guide, providing guests with a more interactive experience leading up to the event.

“I’m honored to be the media sponsor for this year’s event,” said Schlientz. “The Greenburgh Public Library provides an invaluable service to our community, and I’m happy to contribute in a small way. I’m also excited to help promote the vendors, chefs, and restaurants who’ve graciously donated time, food and services to Books & Cooks.”

Honorary Restaurant Chair Glenn Vogt, of RiverMarket Bar & Kitchen in Tarrytown, leads the culinary contributors, who include: Don Coqui, Hudson Grille, Bistro Z, BONJO Coffee, Red Barn Bakery, Broken Bow Brewery, Johnny Gelato, Good-Life Gourmet, Morton’s The Steakhouse, Penny Lick Ice Cream Co., Chutney Masala, The Seeker Wines, Spiked Seltzer, Village Social Kitchen + Bar, Vistro Café at Recologie and Hastings Tea.

The Library Foundation is also honored to welcome Sarah Bracey White, author and Greenburgh town board member, as the Honorary Author Chair. She and local authors Gary Golio, Linda Tarrent-Reid, Roni Schotter, and David Burr Gerrard will be in attendance to sign books and talk literature.
