In Westchester, we have no shortage of spirit when it comes to Halloween. With a town literally called Sleepy Hollow (with a headless horseman) and county-wide events for the young and young at heart, there’s plenty to choose from no matter if you’re more into the historical or hysteria. Here’s a quick roundup of the best Halloween events in Westchester:

Sleepy Hollow Cemetery Tours, Sleepy Hollow
A great daytime option to prep you for the ghoulish going-ons when the sun sets, the tour digs deep into the history of the area, as well as its current residents. Two options available—the two-hour tour is $19.99 and the one-hour “Knickerbocker” tour is $9.99. Reservations are required in advance. MORE INFO >

Washington Irving’s Sunnyside during Legend Behind the ‘Legend’, Tarrytown
Another great daytime option for the whole family, the Legend Behind the ‘Legend’ explores Washington Irving’s classic tale, The Legend of Sleepy Hollow. Complete with a puppet show and a “spooky” walk in the woods. Adults, $16; Seniors, $12; Children 3-17, $8. Tickets must be purchased in advance. MORE INFO >

The Great Jack O’Lantern Blaze, Croton-on-Hudson
If you enjoy the art of pumpkin carving, check out The Great Jack O’Lantern Blaze. Featuring thousands of intricately carved pumpkins propped in various shapes, this walk-through experience is breathtaking to say the least. Only offered in the evenings and scheduled rain or shine, make sure to dress accordingly and bring comfortable shoes. Adults: $20 (Sat $25)  Children 3-17: $16 (Sat $20). MORE INFO >

Horseman’s Hollow, Sleepy Hollow
An IntoxiKate favorite, the Horseman’s Hollow is one of the scariest experiences offered in the tristate area. Actors really dive into their characters, the costumes are believable, and the proposer incredible. That said, children under 12 and the faint of heart should be wary. Tickets: $20 (Sat $25). MORE INFO>
