It’s not often I get the chance to talk food with celebrities, but this week, I had the amazing opportunity to be in the audience on The Talk on CBS. The show, which airs tomorrow at 2 p.m. ET, broadcast in front of a live studio audience this week in NYC. (See below for a promo for the show!)
Hosts Julie Chen, Sara Gilbert, Sharon Osbourne, Aisha Tyler and Sheryl Underwood—shown below with a few fellow bloggers—were a delight both on and off screen. Between Osbourne offering a bite of cheesecake from the cooking segment (more on that to come!) and Underwood handing out hugs, it felt like I knew these ladies for years.
The set was decorated beautifully for spring, featuring a bountifully display of flowers. The most memorable part for me, however, was the cooking set…Um, can you say kitchen envy?!?! The ladies started at their traditional round table, discussing the latest news and entertainment events, before inviting Idina Menzel (no pressure getting that name right!) on the show. The show ended with a food segment with Sal Scognamillo, chef of New York landmark (and Frank Sinatra’s favorite restaurant) Patsy’s. YUM!

Although I enjoyed all of the ladies (I feel like I practically grew up with Gilbert, who starred as Darlene on the Roseanne series) I connected with Underwood immediately. If you watch the show regularly, you know Underwood and I share the same passion for food—I love a lady that can eat!—and she didn’t disappoint, talking about meatballs she received in the dressing and going absolutely ga-ga over Chef Scognamillo’s food.
