Yonkers Brewing Co. announced new Brewmaster Dave Hartmann this morning at the brewery. Along with his expertise and knowledge, the 25-year veteran brings recipes that have won numerous awards at the Great American Beer Festival (GABF), the World Beer Cup and other festivals and competitions. The renewed focus on bringing great beer to Yonkers and beyond is a key component of the company strategy for the upcoming year.
“I saw a huge opportunity with Yonkers Brewing and it was the perfect time to join the team,” said Hartmann. “When I first met with team YBC their passion for the city, for the craft and for growing the business was exactly what I was looking for.”
When he graduated from the UC Davis Master Brewers Program in 1994, Hartmann already had brewing experience under his belt. After working six years with then startup Empire Brewing Company (Syracuse, NY), Hartmann joined Long Trail Brewing Company in 2009, eventually becoming their Brewmaster in 2011.
“Dave brings award winning knowledge and a passion for the craft; and as we enter the next chapter of the business I am confident that Dave will be a big part of our growth,” said BrewEO John Rubbo.
“Trading in 135,000 barrels per year for a projected 4,000 is a big change, but our relationship with Two Roads allows us to perfect the core brews while creating fun and innovative limited time offerings on the smaller in house system,” said Hartmann.
Yonkers Brewing Co. will host their big reveal party, open to the public, on March 31st, featuring Dave’s limited time offering brews. For more information on the party, visit www.yonkersbrewing.com.
