Fall is the season for Westchester events, and often times, these events fall on the same evening. This was the case Thursday evening—in a three-hour span I had three events to go to (all including food and drinks!), but I was game for the task at hand…
Check out the photo recap of The Food Bank for Westchester’s 25th Annual “An Evening in Good Taste,” the YoFi Fest, and the press opening of the Royal Regency Hotel in Yonkers.
First stop: The YoFi Fest
The Yonkers Film Festival kicked off with the screening of Deli Man, a documentary produced and directed by Erik Greenberg Anjou exploring the disappearance of the traditional New York Jewish delicatessen. The film was paired with a pastrami sandwich contest, pitting Ben’s Kosher Delicatessen Restaurant & Caterers (Scarsdale), Harry & Ida’s Meat and Supply Co., and Liebman’s Kosher Delicatessen & Restaurant against each other.
Harry & Ida’s Meat and Supply Co. served a serious sandwich complete with thick cut pastrami, pickles, and fresh dill. To see more photos from the event, visit IntoxiKate on Facebook.
The YoFi Fest runs through Sunday. For a full list of their films and accompanying events, visit YoFiFest.com.
The Royal Regency Hotel Redesign
Next stop, also in Yonkers, was the Royal Regency Hotel, where the hotel relaunched its new look as Westchester County’s first elegant boutique hotel. I toured the hotel’s newly renovated rooms, including this incredibly beautiful luxury suite. With the signature purple color and chic new look, I feel an IntoxiKate girls’ night out coming on! #staytuned
The Food Bank for Westchester’s 25th Annual “An Evening in Good Taste”
The final stop: The Food Bank for Westchester’s 25th Annual “An Evening in Good Taste,” featuring food and beverages from over 25 local eateries including Cedar Street Grill, L’inizio, Little Drunken Chef, Ladle of Love, Fortina, Restaurant North, and NoMa Social. The Tarry Lodge presented a polpettina (little meatball) with sugo (sauce), pictured above.
