Best New Year Celebrations in Westchester

If you’re like most people I know, you’ve waited until the last minute to figure out how to spend those late moments of the year. If you fall in the procrastinator category, don’t worry—I’ve got a line up of the best new year celebrations in Westchester…

New Year’s Eve

• Ring in 2016 at Larchmont’s Vintage 1891 Kitchen! The eatery is hosting a four-course prix fixe menu (duck confit dumplings, prime rib, pan seared sea scallops, bread pudding, and more!) during two seatings. The 6 p.m. seating runs $60 per person. The 8 p.m. seating offers dinner plus a midnight toast and dancing until 1 a.m. for $90 per person. For reservations, call 914-834-9463.

• Check out Chutney Masala’s annual New Year Gala at The Riverview in Hastings-on-Hudson. The party kicks off at 8 p.m. and features a premium open bar, an international buffet, DJ, belly dancing and more. This kid-friendly event has activities for the whole family. Molly Spillane’s (Mamaroneck) offers a $40 open bar from 10 p.m. to 1 a.m. hosted by DJ Jimmy Jam. The evening also includes a complimentary champagne toast at midnight.

• Zuppa Restaurant’s New Year’s Eve offers an elaborate cocktail hour in their Yonkers lounge kicking off at 8 p.m., followed by a four-course sit-down meal. The DJ will be playing and the bartenders will be pouring all night long. Tickets are $140 per person (tax and gratuity not included) and children are half price. • It’s always a good time in Empire City Casino’s “Good Time” Room and Dec. 31st is no different. For $150 per person, you can enjoy an extensive dinner buffet, open bar, champagne toast, and music by the Bobby Lynch Orchestra. The party starts at 9 p.m. To be included, call 914-457-2457.

• If you like to go all out for the occasion, grab some friends (7 to be exact) and grab a table at the Castle Hotel & Spa’s wedding-style event. The historical Tarrytown spot offers a one-hour cocktail reception, four-course plated dinner, Viennese dessert table, five-hour premium open bar, and DJ from 8 p.m. to 1 a.m. Tickets are $250++ per person. The Swingaroos

• Mount Kisco’s Winston Restaurant is swinging in the new year with a prix fixe menu and live music by The Swingaroos. There are two seatings for the evening—the 6 p.m. four-course dinner ($65 per person) includes a champagne toast and the 9 p.m. seating includes a five-course dinner, live music, and a champagne toast ($110 per person). Headed to White Plains? HEINEKEN USA  is partnering with The City of White Plains and the White Plains Business Improvement District on its New Year. Safe Ride. program. Between 11:00 p.m. on December 31 and 3:00 a.m. on January 1, a dedicated fleet of 30 cars will provide complimentary rides home for those 21 and older traveling from the heart of downtown White Plains to anywhere in the City or across Westchester County. The Safe Ride pick-up location will be located in the heart of downtown White Plains, on the corner of East Post Road and Mamaroneck Avenue.

New Year’s Day

Chase that post-NYE hangover with a trip to Yonkers Brewing Co. for their New Year’s Day Football Brunch from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Enjoy savory a la carte food, $20 unlimited sangria or  “beer mosas” (Honey Blond and a splash of OJ) and college football’s biggest bowl games.
