If you’re a follower of IntoxiKate, you know I’m a huge tequila fan. So when Tres Agaves reached out to share Cinco de Mayo cocktail recipes from some of the best mixologists in NYC, I was all about sharing (just in time for this weekend)! Whether you are Derby-ing it up this weekend or celebrating with a fiesta at home, here’s a roundup of recipes I think you’ll love.
Cinco de Mayo Cocktail Recipes
Ginger Margarita
Andrew Booth, Director of Food and Beverage of La Central NYC
Ingredients:
- 1.5oz Organic Tres Agaves Organic Blanco Tequila
- .5oz Freshly squeezed ginger juice
- .5oz lime juice
- .75oz Tres agaves organic agave syrup
Directions:
All ingredients built in a shaker, add ice, hard shake, strain over ice and add garnish. Half salted Rim and lime garnish
Doctor’s Orders

Ingredients:
- 2 parts Tres Agaves Reposado Tequila
- 1 part Spiced carrot cordial (freshly pressed carrot juice, chili salt, sugar)
- ½ part fresh pressed pineapple juice
- ¾ part lemon juice
Directions:
Add all ingredients into a shaker. Salt half rim. Add ice, shake and strain. Add fresh ice. Use a small spray bottle to spritz mezcal over top and add garnish. Baby carrot garnish and spiced salted rim (half tajin/half kosher salt).
Mr. Agave & Ms. Tuna

Ingredients:
- 2 parts Tres Agaves Organic Blanco Tequila
- 6 drops of the tequila-infused with Habanero
- ¾ parts Lime Juice
- ½ part Prickly Pear Puree (such as boiron)
- ¾ parts Tres Agaves Agave Syrup
Directions:
Add all ingredients in the shaker; add ice, shake and strain in coupe or martini glass.
Mandarina Rosa

Ingredients:
- 2 parts Tres Agaves Organic Blanco Tequila
- 2 part Fresh Squeezed Tangerine Juice
- 1 part Fresh Squeezed Lime Juice
Directions:
Rim glass with pink sea salt. Shake all ingredients together; double strain and serve straight-up in a martini or coupe glass. Garnish with a tangerine twist.
Ginger con Hielo

Ingredients:
- Tres Agaves Organic Margarita Mix (to fill ice cube tray)
- ¼ parts Triple Sec
- Candied Ginger
- 2 parts Tres Agaves Reposado Tequila
Directions:
For the ice cube, mix together Triple Sec and Margarita Mix. Pour into king ice-cube tray and place piece of candied ginger in liquid. Freeze overnight. For preparing the cocktail, pour two parts of Reposado tequila over large ice cube in a rocks glass. Garnish with a lime twist.
