Serendipity Magazine’s fifth annual Greenwich Wine and Food Festival kicks off next Wednesday with three days full of delicious events, chock full of both local and international celebrity chefs. Instead of offering a post with the lowdown on events (click here for the lineup, info, and tickets), I thought it would be more fun to offer up the top 10 reasons why you should attend the Greenwich Wine and Food Festival (come on, like you need a reason!). They are as follows, in no particular order:

10. The numbers. They offer an easy reference to the scale of the festival:

15+ Cooking Demos
40+ National and Local Celebrities
150+ Restaurants
200+ Wines, spirits and craft beers
Aka there’s something for everyone!

9. The Food + Wine

Saturday’s grand tasting tent, running from 12:30 to 5 p.m., features samples from over 150 food and beverage vendors. There’s sweet and savory… Keep scrolling down for some of my favorites! BUY TICKETS

8. Demo Tents

Of course there’s plenty to taste, but what can you take home? Visit the demo tents for recipes and cooking tips from celebrity chefs. Oh, and here’s a bonus: Saturday’s “celebrity bookstore” is stocked with all of the chefs’ cookbooks. Snag yours there and get it signed!

7. Celebrity Foodie Crushes

Rocco DiSpirito, Harold Dieterle, Beck Bolender, Nick DiBona, Matt Storch, Eric Gabrynowicz, Christian Petroni and more. There’s some serious chef eye candy. #chefstruck.

6. Little Big Town

Come on!

5. The Festival Beneficiary

Serious food, fun, and beverages can all culminate for a great cause, and Serendipity Magazine selected the perfect one. The festival supports Paul Newman’s The Hole in the Wall Gang Camp, and organization dedicated to providing “a different kind of healing” to children coping with cancer and other serious illnesses, as well as their families. (www.holeinthewallgang.org) Proceeds will also go to the Greenwich Parks & Recreation Scholarship Fund, which provides Greenwich’s youth access to recreational programs. DONATE

4. Bartender Showdown

This definitely shakes things up! {Pun intended.} Saturday evening (5-7 p.m.), head to the showdown tent to watch the area’s best bartenders whip up their signature cocktails. Sample the cocktails to see who gets crowned Cocktail King!

3. Live Broadcast of Fork This with IntoxiKate

I’ll be a featuring chefs, sponsors, and more on Fork This with IntoxiKate next week—check out the IntoxiKate: Living Live Deliciously Facebook page for details—but swing by the WGCH booth on Saturday for a special live broadcast from the event. 2. Burger Battle with Adam Richman

Hi the Burger Battle Tent for the custom-crafted burger throw down judged by a panel of celebrity chefs (see food crushes above) and hosted by Food Fighter’s Adam Richman.
