INNOVATION + PROGRESS WITH FOOD PANTRY
Charity: Catholic Charities of Rockland
The Deets: During their Blessing of the Soil Event on April 22nd, Catholic Charities will unveil their new greenhouse, located at 78 Hudson Avenue. The greenhouse is the first of its kind in the New York region to be constructed to benefit a food pantry. The greenhouse, funded through a grant from NYS Assemblyman Ken Zebrowski’s office, will help provide healthy food choices to hundreds of families and help educate people on the value of gardening and the importance of making healthy choices. This is not only an incredible resource to have in our own backyard, and I’m hoping this innovation spreads to more local charities in our area! INTOXIKATE DANCES FOR A CAUSE
Charity: Hillside Food Outreach
The Deets: I’m humbled to announce I am one of the “star” dancers for the Hillside Food Outreach’s “Dancing with the Stars” fundraising event. I’ll be working with a professional dance instructor from the Arthur Murray Dance Studio in Yonkers, competing in front of a panel of judges at the May 6th event. (Make sure to like IntoxiKate: Living Life Deliciously on Facebook for being the scenes footage.) This is an incredibly important cause to me and for our community, so I’m hoping I’ll have your support for the People’s Choice, by voting for me—when the website is up and running! Each vote is $10 and is 100% tax detuctible. Hillside Food Outreach delivers food on a monthly basis to over 2,100 individuals who live at or below the poverty line in Putnam and Westchester Counties, as well as Western Connecticut.
