Love, love, love those locally made products, and Penny Lick Ice Cream is no different. (Chef Ellen Sledge—known at farmer’s markets as the “Ice Cream Lady” has me HOOKED on her maple salted caramel.) Sledge uses a custard-base, all natural and local ingredients, returning to the ice cream of yesteryear and offering a creamy dessert packed with flavor. Penny Lick is available in pints, cups, push pops and sandwiches (ask if those gluten-free cookies are available).
Track down Penny Lick Ice Cream at the Hasting-on-Hudson, Bronxville or Chappaqua Farmer’s Markets. To be sure she’ll be there—trust me, you’ll want to reward yourself and your kids—visit the Penny Lick events page.
