October is all about festivals, creating some of the best events in Westchester! From the beer guzzling fun of local brews at Oktoberfest celebrations to bringing the best ingredients from Hudson Valley farms home from Harvest Fest, you’ll want to save these upcoming events in your calendar!

Greenwich Food and Wine Festival presented by Serendipity Magazine

October 3 – 5th

Roger Sherman Park in Greenwich, CT

Tickets are $125 and up

Why you should be there:

  • – The event benefits The Hole in the Wall Gang Camp
  • – Thursday’s Kick Off Party features wines and gourmet hors d’oeuvres from some of the top chefs in the area.
  • – Friday’s Grand Tasting Gala allows you to taste menu items from local chefs and vendors.
  • – Bravo “Top Chef All-Stars” winner Richard Blais will be on hand (as well as several other celeb-status chefs).
  • – Features food from Eric Gabrynowicz, Restaurant North, Armonk, N.Y. and Eric Korn, Good-Life Gourmet, Irvington, N.Y.
  • – Did someone call for The General? Check out the live performance by indie rock band Dispatch!

 

Hudson Hop and Harvest

  • – To celebrate the harvest, chefs are providing amazing food sourced from local farms.

  • – Get a pour of some craft beer from Peekskill Brewery and Captain Lawrence Brewing Company.
  • – Feel like taking some goodies home? Hit up the farmer’s market to stock up on some of the last veggies of the fall season!

A Taste of Westchester Cooking Class at Sonora

$15 (+ $25 sampling fee in CASH + optional $20 cookbook, payable to instructor)

Why you should be there:

– Along with a demonstration, students will have a sample taste of Chef Rafael’s creations in a Latin setting.

– The menu for the evening includes sirloin steak empanadas with guajillo pepper aji, grilled salmon with quinoa tabbouleh and saffron mojito sauce, and an authentic dessert of cinnamon churros.
